WHO ARE WE?
Celulosa y Papel del Bajío S.A. de C.V (CEYPABASA) was founded in 1982 in the city of León in the Guanajuato state of Mexico (within the Bajío region). Being the state’s only paper mill, we are an important single source of employment to the city, and the anchor of the paper recycling chain in the region.
Throughout the years, CEYPABASA has successfully integrated to the local economy, taking advantage of the growth that the region has experienced.
Currently the company purchases the majority of its supplies and raw materials from small and medium sized local enterprises.
CEYPABASA manufactures everyday 130 metric tons of recycled containerboard, all of which is entirely made out of old corrugated containers and cellulosic materials, avoiding the use of virgin fiber. Our paper is certified by the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council).
We value sustainability, so we aim to increase the use of clean energies in our manufacturing process. In the last ten years, a set of solar cells and a natural gas cogeneration system have been installed; both of which have helped us reduce our emission of greenhouse gases and air pollutants.
